The National Monuments Service's description

A peatland survey carried out in 2006 by Archaeological Development Services recorded a togher measuring in ‘width 0.2-1.65m, depth 0.05-0.1m, length 20m’. (Whitaker 2006, 83). Described by Whitaker as ‘this possible togher was visible at two sightings at the northern end of Littleton Bog. It was orientated northeast-southwest and was composed of transverse and longitudinal brushwood elements. It has been milled and was possibly more substantial before sustaining machine damage.TI-LTNO25a, 223580, 159303, Width 1.65m, Depth 0.05m, Length 1m. This sighting was located at the southwest end of the possible togher and was exposed on the field surface. It was composed of three well-spaced transverse brushwood and roundwood elements. The wood was moderately preserved, although the upper surfaces had been milled. The elements ranged in length from 0.16 to 0.18m and in diameter from 0.03 to 0.06m. The peat was composed of well-humified pool peat with frequent Eriophorum inclusions. TI-LTNO25b, 223591,159315, Width 0.2m, Depth 0.1m, Length 0.3m. This sighting was located approximately 20m southeast of TI-LTNO24a and was exposed on the field' surface. It is composed of one roundwood and three brushwood longitudinals. The wood was in a poor state of preservation and had been damaged by machinery. The roundwood and brushwoods measured 0.1m and 0.02m in diameter, respectively’.
