The National Monuments Service's description
On a broad scrub-covered karstic terrace on the lower NW slopes of Knockanes ridge, adjacent to a spring, in the Burren National Park. Listed as fulachta fia in the RMP (1996); a cluster of fulachtaí fia in the area was reported by Tom Coffey (1994) on annotated maps (SMR file). A low crescent-shaped mound (c. 8m ESE−WNW; c. 4.5-5m NNE−SSW; H c. 0.4m) with a shallow central hollow (2.5m N−S; 2m E−W at mouth) open to SE where it faces the spring. The mound is engulfed long grass, ferns and blackthorn scrub, and is difficult to examine and photograph. Another fulacht fia (CL010-143001-) lies c. 50m to the SW on the same terrace.
