The National Monuments Service's description
In a low-lying damp area of mixed rough pasture and woodland, with higher ground and exposed bedrock immediately to NE-E-S, a spring nearby to the NE, and to the E and W of which small streams flow NNE. Reported separately by Tom Coffey and Donncha Ó Dúlaing (SMR file). Listed in the RMP (1996) as one of several ‘Fulachta fiadh’ in this vicinity (including CL010-124002-, CL010-124003- and CL010-124004-). This subcircular fulacht fia is defined by a grass-covered mound (12m NE-SW; 8m NW-SE; H 1.1-1.4m), the edge of which is ill defined NNW-NE. In the centre of the mound is a depression (D 0.7m) which is partly overgrown by hazel and blackthorn. There are two other fulachtaí fia very close by; one (CL010-124002-) 27m to the SE and the second (CL010-124003-) c. 35m to the SE. A third fulacht fia (CL010-124004-) lies c. 195m to the SE.
