Perchée sur la falaise, de part et d'autre d'un phare, la batterie comprend quatre casemates pour canons de 105 mm et deux plate-formes circulaires pour canons de 155 mm. Elle est représentative des ouvrages d'artillerie de moyen calibre du système défensif, dit Mur de l'Atlantique, mis en place par l'organisation Todt à partir de l'été 1942, pour assurer la défense lointaine d'un port. Le poste de commandement de tir, en avant de la casemate au nord, est utilisé aujourd'hui par les services de la navigation côtière.

History
Perched on the cliff, on either side of a lighthouse, the battery comprises four casemates for 105 mm guns and two circular platforms for 155 mm guns. It is representative of medium-calibre artillery works of the defensive system, known as the Atlantic Wall, put in place by the Todt organization from summer 1942, to ensure the distant defence of a port. The fire command post, in front of the casemate to the north, is used today by coastal navigation services.
