L'emplacement de ce quartier correspond à l'ancienne réserve de chasse du château d'Angoulême, lotie aux 18e et 19e siècles. Cet immeuble présente une façade à quatre étages. Le rez-de-chaussée est séparé des deux étages supérieurs par un bandeau très saillant. Un bandeau plus large sépare le second étage de l'étage supérieur sous corniche, traité en mezzanine. Le percement des baies est régulier et rythmé. Au rez-de-chaussée, deux baies encadrent de chaque côté la porte d'entrée surmontée d'un arc en plein cintre, reçu sur des pilastres à chapiteau dorique. Une importante clef saillante orne la partie supérieure de l'arc. Le premier et le second sont percés de façon identique par cinq baies rectangulaires. Les fenêtres du premier possèdent des garde-corps en fer forgé. Celles du second présentent un appui saillant, droit, soutenu par deux consoles rectangulaires, orné d'un cercle en saillie ou gouttes. La mezzanine est percée de cinq baies rectangulaires, encadrée chacune de pilastres cannelés formant aussi des consoles supportant la corniche très moulurée. Le chapiteau de chaque pilastre est orné, sur sa surface, de deux gouttes.

History
The location of this district corresponds to the former hunting reserve of the castle of Angoulême, subdivided in the 18th and 19th centuries. This building presents a façade with four storeys. The ground floor is separated from the two storeys above by a very projecting band. A wider band separates the second storey from the storey above below the cornice, treated as a mezzanine. The piercing of the openings is regular and rhythmical. On the ground floor, two openings frame on each side the entrance door surmounted by a round arch, received on pilasters with Doric capital. A prominent key adorns the upper part of the arch. The first and second are pierced in identical fashion by five rectangular openings. The windows of the first possess wrought ironwork guards. Those of the second present a projecting, straight sill, supported by two rectangular corbels, adorned with a projecting circle or drops. The mezzanine is pierced by five rectangular openings, each framed by fluted pilasters also forming corbels supporting the very moulded cornice. The capital of each pilaster is adorned, on its surface, with two drops.
