L'église fut donnée en 1015 par Etienne, évêque d'Auvergne, à l'abbaye de Manglieu. L'édifice présente tous les éléments de l'architecture auvergnate : voûtes plein cintre, nef à arcatures sur colonnes à chapiteaux, abside en cul de four ornée d'arcatures et de chapiteaux, coupole sur trompe. L'ancien clocher a été détruit en 1793.

History
The church was given in 1015 by Etienne, bishop of Auvergne, to the abbey of Manglieu. The edifice presents all the elements of Auvergnat architecture: round-arch vaults, nave with arcading on columns with capitals, apse in the form of a cul-de-four adorned with arcading and capitals, dome on squinch. The old bell tower was destroyed in 1793.
