Ancien château fort construit par un oncle de Bertrand Du Guesclin. Neuf tours en flanquaient la courtine. Un pont-levis donnait accès à la cour en hémicycle. Trois souterrains permettaient de quitter la forteresse. Le château assurait la défense contre les attaques anglaises. Henri IV le fit raser, comme dernier repaire des Ligueurs.

History
Ancient fortified castle built by an uncle of Bertrand Du Guesclin. Nine towers flanked its curtain wall. A drawbridge gave access to the hemicycle courtyard. Three underground passages allowed escape from the fortress. The castle ensured defence against English attacks. Henri IV had it razed, as the last lair of the Leaguers.
