La construction du logis et de la chapelle de la Ville-Bague peut être attribuée à l'une des plus grandes famille de Saint-Malo aux 17e et 18e siècles, les Magon de la Chipaudière, propriétaires du domaine à partir de 1695, mais le logis, de type malouinière, semble légèrement postérieur. Le jardin a vraisemblablement été aménagé à la même époque, et l'on peut lire son tracé sur le relevé des Côtes de France : il était alors constitué de trois terrasses allant en s'agrandissant et s'évasant complètement au niveau de la dernière. History
The construction of the main dwelling and chapel of la Ville-Bague can be attributed to one of the greatest families of Saint-Malo in the 17th and 18th centuries, the Magon de la Chipaudière, who owned the estate from 1695 onwards, but the main dwelling, of the malouinière type, seems to be slightly later. The garden was presumably laid out at the same period, and its layout can be read on the survey of the Côtes de France: it then consisted of three terraces that grew larger and opened out completely at the level of the last one. The first two terraces were planted in the French style, with four parterres and trees, the last was occupied by two lawns separated by the central path. Of the original layout, only the enclosure and the outline of the first two terraces remain today, the last no longer being part of the property. A landscape park was redesigned in the 19th century, flanked by a kitchen garden and a rose garden at the level of the second terrace. The park has retained its overall 19th-century appearance, but French parterres have been replanted on the second terrace after the damage caused by the storm.
