Catalina Adobe

Rancho San Rafael was granted to José María Verdugo on October 20, 1784. Don José Verdugo died April 12, 1831, leaving his estate to his son Julio and daughter, blind Catalina. This adobe was built for Doña Catalina in the 1830's and she lived there until her death in 1861. The Catalina Adobe or Original Mud Block Adobe is in excellent condition today and in private ownership.
