Cadw's description

The following provides a general description of the Scheduled Ancient Monument.

The monument consists of the remains of two pillow mound, pillow-shaped, flat topped rectangular mounds often surrounded by a shallow ditch and used to farm rabbits. Both mounds are oriented north north west to south south east. The northern mound measures 26m in length, is c 1m high, rectangular and has squared ends with ditches along the long sides. The southern mound measures 18m in length and is c 1m high, it is similar in form to the other.

The monument is of national importance for its potential to enhance our knowledge of agricultural techniques. It retains significant archaeological potential, with a strong probability of the presence of associated archaeological features and deposits.

The scheduled area comprises the remains described and areas around them within which related evidence may be expected to survive.
