Cadw's description
Location
On the W side of the mill, set back from the road.
History
Argoed mill is shown on the 1840 Tithe map but the present building was built in 1878. The shed was built in the second half of the C19 and is shown on the 1889 Ordnance Survey.
Exterior
Rubble stone with slate roof. On the S side is a stone-segmental-headed doorway to the L end with replacement boarded door. To its R are double boarded doors below an overlight with inserted brickwork. Next R is a segmental-headed opening boarded up. In the R (E) gable end, where the ground level is lower, is a stone-segmental-headed basement doorway with boarded door.
Reason for designation
Listed for group value with the former Argoed Mill and associated buildings, and for its contribution to the overall historic character of Argoed hamlet.
