Location
Diagonally SW of St Mary's Church; to rear of pavement against boundary wall.
History
Pair of K6 type square, red kiosks of cast-iron construction to the standard design of Giles Gilbert Scott, architect of London. Design introduced by GPO in 1936; these examples date from the reign of King George VI and Queen Elizabeth II.
Exterior
Domed roof with four lunettes containing embossed crowns over red lettered opals and ventilation slits. Raised surrounds to sides and door with marginal bars to horizontal glazing. Blank rear, moulded plinth.
Foundry plate inscribed: "Carron Company, Stirlingshire".
Reason for designation
Included for excellent location within very fine conservation area. Group Value with other listed buildings and a second pair of TCBs further E.
