Location
Set to rear of pavement close to screen wall at former Post Office Yard.
History
Pair of K6 type square, red kiosks of cast-iron construction to the standard design of Giles Gilbert Scott, architect of London. Design introduced by GPO in 1936; these examples date from the reign of Queen Elizabeth II; the figure "59" inside one of them may indicate a date of 1959.
Exterior
Domed roof with four lunettes containing embossed crowns over red lettered opals and ventilation slits. Raised surrounds to sides and door with marginal bars to horizontal glazing. Blank rear, moulded plinth. Foundry plate inscribed: "Carron Company, Stirlingshire".
Reason for designation
Included for excellent location within very fine conservation area. Grouping with other listed buildings and a second pair of TCBs further W.
