Cadw's description

Situated some 300m NW of Cross Inn crossroads, on W side of road, just behind council houses.

History: Mid C19 small farmhouse.

Description: Colourwashed rubble stone with slate roof, and stone end stacks. Two-storey, three-window range offset to right. 4-pane sashes with brick cambered heads to lower sashes, timber lintels above. Whitewashed end walls. Single-storey outbuilding attached to right with brick C20 lean-to and one window to right.

Llain farmhouse is part of an unusually complete group, a good regional example of the smaller farm units with small scale cow-house and stable/cart-shed irregularly placed around the narrow yard.
