Omschrijving
BEELD JUNO
Standplaats: aan de Velperbinnensingel, ten westen van Musis-Sacrum. BEELD van Bentheimer zandsteen, voorstellende Juno. Het beeld is geplaatst op een zandstenen sokkel op vierkante grondslag. De sokkel bezit een eenvoudig geprofileerd basement en hierboven een zich licht verjongende schacht met aan elke zijde een paneel met spaarveld, dat aan de onder- en bovenzijde afsluit met een schouderboogje. Hierboven bevindt zich een fries met palmetten, dat de eenvoudig geprofileerde dekplaat van de sokkel draagt. Juno is gekleed in een lang, tot de voeten reikend, sterk geplooid en doorschijnend gewaad, dat de rechter borst vrij laat. Hierover is rondom een sterk geplooid kleed gedrapeerd, dat door de godin met de linker hand wordt vastgehouden en over de opgeheven rechter arm is geslagen. Dit kleed is afgezet met een sierrand van elkaar kruisende banden met rozetten. Aan haar voeten sandalen. Het linker been dient als standbeen, terwijl het rechter als speelbeen fungeert. Juno bezit krullend, aan de achterzijde bijeen gebonden haar, bekroond met een diadeem. Drie zware strengen haar vallen op haar rug. Aan haar rechter zijde bevindt zich een pauw.

STATUE OF JUNO
Location: on the Velperbinnensingel, to the west of Musis-Sacrum. STATUE of Bentheim sandstone, depicting Juno. The statue is placed on a sandstone pedestal on a square base. The pedestal has a simply moulded base and above it a shaft tapering slightly with on each side a panel with spandrel, which closes at the bottom and top with a shouldered arch. Above this is a frieze with palmettes, which carries the simply moulded coping slab of the pedestal. Juno is dressed in a long, reaching to the feet, heavily pleated and transparent garment, which leaves the right breast bare. Over this is draped a heavily pleated garment around the figure, which the goddess holds with her left hand and is thrown over her raised right arm. This garment is bordered with a decorative band of interlocking bands with rosettes. At her feet are sandals. The left leg serves as the supporting leg, while the right leg functions as the free leg. Juno has curling hair, gathered at the back, crowned with a diadem. Three heavy strands of hair fall down her back. At her right side is a peacock.
Valuation: Stone STATUE from the 18th century, created by Ignatius van Logteren.
