The register's description

TERRACE AND TERRACE FENCE AT THE PAVILION at the historic country estate Over Holland.

Very richly executed straight fence in Louis XIV style as closure of the terrace with landing place of the Chinese pavilion. The straight fence is constructed of openwork baluster-shaped spokes in which a refined ornamental pattern in Marot style with in the middle an openwork richly executed coat-of-arms field containing the mirrored monogram of Jan van Mekeren and Margaretha Rutgers, owners of the country estate between approximately 1732 and 1755. The fence was placed as closure of a terrace on the Vecht side of the Chinese pavilion. Below the current ground level of the terrace around the pavilion, the pavement with graceful baroque pattern of clinker bricks from the middle of the 18th century has been preserved. The fence stands on a brick retaining wall with the base in the Vecht, closed by a natural stone capping plate. The wall curves slightly inward at the ends and is terminated by a slanted retaining wall sloping in height toward the talus.
