Inleiding
ERETRIBUNE, ontworpen voor de voetbalclub Heracles (opgericht in 1903) door de Almelose architect M. Krabshuis, gebouwd in 1924 en in gebruik genomen in 1925 bij het hoofdveld van de voetbalclub. Op de tribune kunnen circa 450 mensen plaatsnemen. De tribune werd gefinancierd door de Almelose sociaal bewogen textielfabrikant Breuning ten Cate sr. Dit was de man die na seizoen 1919-1920 er tevens voor had gezorgd dat een Engelse voetbaltrainer kon worden aangetrokken, waarna Heracles het jaar erop kon promoveren naar de 1e klasse. Architect M. Krabshuis heeft voor het ontwerp van de tribune in Engeland vooronderzoek naar houten tribunes gedaan. In 1999-2000 is, nadat op een andere locatie het Polman Stadion werd opgeleverd ten behoeve van de profvoetballers, het sportpark gereorganiseerd en werd tribune binnen het complex verplaatst naar het hoofdveld voor de amateurs. De fundering op houten paaltjes is toen vervangen door een betonnen fundering. De tribune is thans in gebroken wit en donkergroene kleuren geschilderd. Op de kap ligt een bitumineuze afdekking.
Omschrijving
ERETRIBUNE, opgetrokken op een rechthoekige plattegrond en opgebouwd uit houten delen. De achter- en zijwanden zijn eveneens uit houten verticale delen opgebouwd. Het zadeldak wordt ondersteund door dertien spanten. De kap is aan de voorzijde voorzien van een royaal overstek. De kap wordt hier gedragen door zes dragers, met elkaar verbonden door een langgerekt vakwerkspant, die voorzien zijn van versieringen in de clubkleuren zwart-wit. In de beide zijwanden bevinden zich zes rechthoekige laddervensters van ongelijke grootte. De voorzijde van de tribune is open. Centraal op de begane grond bevinden zich de deuren naar de onder de banken gelegen kleedruimten. Aan weerszijden van de deuren liggen de trappen die toegang geven tot de oplopende banken. De achter- en zijgevels zijn op de begane grond voorzien van enkele deuren en twee- en vierruits laddervensters. Onder de kap staan de negen banken in hoogte oplopende rijen opgesteld. Vooraan twee rijen gecompartimenteerde banken en daarachter eenvoudiger zitbanken.

HONOUR STAND, designed for the football club Heracles (established in 1903) by Almelo architect M. Krabshuis, built in 1924 and put into use in 1925 at the main pitch of the football club. The gabled roof is supported by thirteen roof trusses. The roof is provided with a generous overhang at the front. In both side walls there are six rectangular ladder windows of unequal size. The front of the stand is open. The rear and side gables are provided on the ground floor with some doors and two- and four-pane ladder windows. Under the roof are the nine benches arranged in rows rising in height. At the front two rows of compartmented benches and behind them simpler bench seating.
