Omschrijving
KAPEL (onderdeel 8). In de oksel van de mergelschuur (behorende bij de
aangrenzende boerderij) en de noordelijke muur van de boomgaard op de cour
gesitueerde in mergelstenen opgetrokken kapel op rechthoekige grondslag
onder met gemêleerde Oud-Hollandse pannen gedekt lessenaarsdak. De kapel
vertoont een brede geprofileerde stompe spitsboogvormige open entree aan de
westzijde en een met hardsteen omlijste halfronde vensteropening aan de
noordzijde. De westgevel wordt afgesloten door kantelen. De oorsprong van
het bouwwerk, die waarschijnlijk tot in de tweede helft van de achttiende
eeuw teruggaat, is onduidelijk. Waarschijnlijk is het bouwwerk tussen 1870
en 1984, wanneer de buitenplaats in bezit is van familie Neys, verbouwd tot
kapel, en heeft als zodanig dienst gedaan. In de voor(west-)wand bevindt
zich het wapen van de familie Neys.

Description
CHAPEL (component 8). Situated in the angle between the marl barn (belonging to the adjacent farmhouse) and the northern wall of the orchard on the courtyard, a chapel constructed in marl stone on a rectangular ground plan covered with mixed old Dutch tiles in a lean-to roof. The chapel features a broad profiled blunt pointed-arch shaped open entrance on the west side and a rounded window opening framed in hard stone on the north side. The west gable is finished with crenellations. The origin of the building, which probably dates back to the second half of the eighteenth century, is unclear. It is probable that the building was converted into a chapel between 1870 and 1984, when the country estate was in the possession of the Neys family, and served as such. In the front (west) wall is located the coat of arms of the Neys family.
