Omschrijving onderdeel 5:
PARKRUÏNE ALS FOLLY uit omstreeks 1870. De folly werd opgetrokken in opdracht van Pierre Gustave Voûte, die de buitenplaats in 1868 in eigendom verwierf. Even ten zuidoosten van het huis en pal ten oosten van het ensemble van boerderij, muur en stenen schuur in rode baksteen opgetrokken pseudo Middeleeuwse ronde deels verruïneerde toren, naar boven licht taps toelopend. De toren is onderkelderd en heeft aan de oostzijde een aanbouw van een kleinere rechthoekige toren met halfronde poortdoorgang. Deze rechthoekige toren wordt door een mezekouw afgesloten. Tegen laatstgenoemde toren is de aanzet van een grote boog gebouwd. De folly werd opgetrokken om de associatieve kwaliteit van het park in landschapsstijl te verhogen en om de verbeelding van de wandelaar te prikkelen.

PARK RUIN AS FOLLY from around 1870. The folly was erected on the instructions of Pierre Gustave Voûte, who acquired the estate in 1868. Just to the southeast of the house and directly to the east of the ensemble of farmhouse, wall and stone barn, a pseudo-medieval round partly ruined tower was erected in red brick, tapering slightly upward. The tower is undercellared and has on the east side an extension of a smaller rectangular tower with semi-circular gateway passage. This rectangular tower is terminated by a mezzanine. Against the latter tower the beginning of a large arch has been built. The folly was erected to increase the associative quality of the landscape-style park and to stimulate the imagination of the walker.
