DIENSTWONING behorende bij de historische buitenplaats Rust en Vreugd. In 1945 werd de oorspronkelijk enkele woning in een dubbele woning gesplitst. De naast het oorspronkelijke toegangshek aan de Rijksstraatweg gesitueerde woning uit 1923 -gebouwd ter vervanging van een oudere dienstwoning- is in een aan een landelijke bouwstijl verwante stijl door architect S. de Clercq gebouwd. Het symmetrisch opgezette woonhuis op rechthoekige plattegrond, deels onderkelderd, bestaat uit één bouwlaag onder een vrij steil, hoog opgaand zadeldak. Beschoten topgevels. Het met de nokrichting evenwijdig aan de Rijksstraatweg gelegen dak is gedekt met verbeterde rood Hollandse pannen. Op de nok twee kruislings geplaatste schoorstenen bestaande uit drie en vier rookkanalen. In beide langskappen een langgerekte dakkapel bestaande uit vier dubbele ramen met roeden - tussen de vensters een beschoten paneel. De frontgevel, die naar de toegangslaan is gekeerd, heeft een risaliet met in de topgevel een luidklok. In de gevels samengestelde vensters met halve luiken. De hoofdentree bevindt zich in de langsgevel.

Dubbele PORTIERSWONING van de buitenplaats Rust en Vreugd is van algemeen belang wegens architectuur- en cultuurhistorische waarde:

SERVANTS' DWELLING belonging to the historic country estate Rust en Vreugd. In 1945 the originally single dwelling was divided into a double dwelling. The dwelling situated next to the original entrance gate on the Rijksstraatweg, built in 1923—constructed to replace an older servants' dwelling—was built by architect S. de Clercq in a style related to rural building tradition. The symmetrically arranged residential house on rectangular ground plan, partly with a basement, consists of one storey under a fairly steep, tall rising gabled roof. Boarded gable ends. The roof, with its ridge direction parallel to the Rijksstraatweg, is covered with improved red Dutch tiles. On the ridge two roof chimneys placed crosswise consisting of three and four flue channels. In both long roof slopes an elongated roof dormer consisting of four double windows with glazing bars—between the windows a boarded panel. The front facade, which faces the entrance drive, has a risalit with a bell gable in the top gable. The facades contain composite windows with half shutters. The main entrance is located in the long facade.
