Omschrijving onderdeel 3: op de bijbehorende kaart aangegeven met nr.3
TOEGANGSHEK behorende bij de historische buitenplaats Rust en Vreugd. Aan de Rijksstraatweg -de oorspronkelijke toegang tot de buitenplaats- staat een in Neo-Hollands Classicistische trant gebouwd hek uit 1906 ontworpen door het architectenbureau van Hoek en Wouters. Oorspronkelijk bevatte de entree een korfbogige doorgang met driehoekig tympaan, waaronder het fries de naam van de buitenplaats stond aangegeven. Bij het oorspronkelijke ontwerp was ook een smeedijzeren lantaarnhouder aanwezig boven het toegangshek. Deze zijn niet meer ter plekke aanwezig. Oude delen van het hek zijn opgeslagen bij het huidige hoofdgebouw landhuis Rust en Vreugd. Ten behoeve van de verbreding van de Rijksstraatweg is het hek naar achteren verplaatst. Uit rode baksteen met natuurstenen speklagen bestaande pijlers - centraal hek tussen pijlers met gebogen zijstukken en vervolgens rechte zijstukken. Op ca. 50cm afstand van het hek staan ijzeren hekstoppers.

TOEGANGSHEK behorend bij de buitenplaats Rust en Vreugd is van algemeen belang wegens architectuur- en cultuurhistorische en stedenbouwkundige waarde

ENTRANCE GATE belonging to the historic country estate Rust en Vreugd. On the Rijksstraatweg—the original entrance to the country estate—stands a gate built in 1906 in the Neo-Dutch Classical style, designed by the architectural firm Hoek and Wouters. Originally the entrance contained a segmental arch passage with triangular tympanum, below which the frieze indicated the name of the country estate. In the original design there was also a wrought-iron lantern holder above the entrance gate. These are no longer present on site. Old parts of the gate are stored at the current main building of the manor house Rust en Vreugd. In order to widen the Rijksstraatweg, the gate was moved back. Pillars consisting of red brick with natural stone string courses—central gate between pillars with curved side pieces and subsequently straight side pieces. At approximately 50 cm distance from the gate stand iron gate stops.
