Omschrijving onderdeel 28: VALPROEVENGEBOUW, B6-272B.
Inleiding
Dit voormalig VALPROEVENGEBOUW oftewel Gebouw B6 (272B ), onderdeel van de Artillerie-Inrichtingen, is rond 1930 gebouwd om munitie en springstoffen door middel van valproeven te testen op veiligheid en stabiliteit. Gebouw B6 maakt onderdeel uit van het B-cluster (de B staat voor Beproeving) dat voor het merendeel uit testgebouwen voor munitie bestaat en vrijwel centraal op het Hembrugterrein ligt. Gezien het immer aanwezige ontploffingsgevaar is het gebouw vrij gelegen. Bij het B-cluster zijn aarden wallen en het zgn. Reigersbos oftewel schokbos aangelegd om bij ontploffing losvliegend materiaal op te vangen. De waterlopen moesten voorkomen dat brand oversloeg en konden bluswater leveren.
Omschrijving
Gebouw B6 telt één bouwlaag op rechthoekige plattegrond onder een houten dak. Het gebouw is opgetrokken in gewapend beton. Het gebouw ligt in het midden van een open plaats die wordt omsloten door 50 cm dikke betonnen wanden met steunberen bedoeld om de druk van een ontploffing op te vangen. De ruimte is toegankelijk via een rondboogopening in het beton.
Uit de plank- en nerfstructuur in het beton volgt dat het bouwwerk ter plaatse is gegoten. Het interieur bestaat uit twee ruimten gescheiden door een dikke muur.
Waardering
Het voormalig VALPROEVENGEBOUW B6 is van cultuurhistorische en - meer in het bijzonder - militair-historische waarde als uniek en gaaf bewaard gebleven valproevengebouw voor munitie en springstoffen. Het gebouw is tevens van groot belang als historisch-functioneel onderdeel van het Hembrugterrein en de Stelling van Amsterdam in het algemeen alsmede van het B(eproevings)-cluster in het bijzonder. Het is voorts van typologische waarde als beproevingsgebouw met een aparte buitenruimte omgeven met betonnen wanden.

Introduction
This former DROP-TEST BUILDING, namely Building B6 (272B), part of the Artillery Installations, was built around 1930 to test ammunition and explosives by means of drop tests for safety and stability. Building B6 forms part of the B-cluster (the B stands for Testing) which consists largely of test buildings for ammunition and lies almost centrally on the Hembrug site. Given the ever-present explosion hazard, the building is isolated. At the B-cluster, earthen embankments and the so-called Reigersbos or shock forest were constructed to catch flying debris in the event of an explosion. The watercourses were designed to prevent fire from spreading and could provide firefighting water.
Description
Building B6 has one storey on a rectangular floor plan beneath a wooden roof. The building is constructed in reinforced concrete. The building lies in the centre of an open space which is enclosed by 50 cm thick concrete walls with buttresses designed to absorb the force of an explosion. The space is accessible via a round-arched opening in the concrete.
From the plank and grain structure in the concrete it follows that the building was cast in situ. The interior consists of two spaces separated by a thick wall.
