Omschrijvijng onderdeel 22: Munitiemagazijn, Gebouw M9-301.
Inleiding
Het voormalig MUNITIEMAGAZIJN M9 (301) maakt deel uit van het cluster Sectorpark Zaandam en is gebouwd in 1917 (andere bron vermeldt 1934 als bouwjaar) voor de opslag van munitie. Het Sectorpark Zaandam maakte deel uit van de Stelling van Amsterdam en ligt in het noordoostelijk deel van het Hembrugterrein. Het Sectorpark Amsterdam is in de jaren 1950 opgeheven.
Dit gedeelte was met een hek afgescheiden van het Militair Terrein en de gebouwen hadden geen relatie met het staatsbedrijf Artillerie-Inrichtingen. Het Sectorpark had een eigen ingang aan de kant van het Zijkanaal G en een eigen aanlegsteiger. Hoewel er sprake is van twee typen munitiemagazijnen - twee grote en twee kleine gebouwen - zijn deze qua indeling niet identiek. Rondom de gebouwen van het hele cluster zijn naoorlogse bliksemafleiders geplaatst.
De munitiemagazijnen zijn onderling gescheiden door aarden beschermingswallen van ongeveer 4 meter hoogte, die tezamen een kruis vormen. Het cluster is eveneens door een aarden wal gescheiden van de ernaast gelegen cluster A-gebouwen. Rond M6-M9 lag een inmiddels verdwenen smalspoor met aftakkingen naar de gebouwen. In gebouw M8-299 en M9-301 zijn hiervan in het interieur nog resten te vinden.
Omschrijving
Het gebouw heeft een rechthoekige plattegrond met een oppervlakte van 14.20 x 42.20 meter en is opgetrokken in gewapend beton met iets verdiepte muurvlakken tussen de kolommen. De muren zijn bij dit gebouw als enige niet gepleisterd waardoor de plank- en nerfstructuur van het hout waarin het beton indertijd gegoten is, nog zichtbaar is. Wel zijn net als bij de andere M-gebouwen de ventilatieluiken dichtgezet. Het zeer flauw hellend dak is van beton afgedekt met bitumen en wordt gekenmerkt door een overstek. Het dak is als een lichte constructie er enigszins los bovenop gezet met het oog op mogelijke ontploffingen (zgn. plofdak).
De voorgevel (noord) wordt geleed door vier paar dubbele stalen deuren gevat in kolommen waarvan de 2e deur van links thans is dichtgezet. Via deze 4 paar deuren takte het gebouw vroeger aan op de smalspoorbaan. De beide zijgevels en achtergevel zijn gesloten.
Het interieur bestaat thans uit een gang en zes ruimten met daarin de betonspanten met balklaag waarop het dak rust. In enkele ruimten zijn recent tussenmuren van witte stenen geplaatst. In de betonnen buitenmuren zijn de met houten luiken afsluitbare ventilatieluiken nog te zien. In de betonnen vloer bevinden zich nog rails van de munitielorries inclusief draaiplateaus.
Waardering
Het voormalig MUNITIEMAGAZIJN M9 (301) is van cultuur-, militair-, en architectuurhistorische waarde als voorbeeld van een betonnen militair magazijn uit de eerste helft van de 20ste eeuw en tevens van belang als historisch-functioneel onderdeel van de Stelling van Amsterdam, meer in het bijzonder het voormalige Sectorpark Zaandam op het Hembrugterrein.

Introduction
The former AMMUNITION MAGAZINE M9 (301) is part of the Sectorpark Zaandam cluster and was built in 1917 (another source mentions 1934 as the year of construction) for the storage of ammunition. The Sectorpark Zaandam was part of the Stelling van Amsterdam and is located in the northeastern part of the Hembrug site. The Sectorpark Amsterdam was discontinued in the 1950s.
This section was separated by a fence from the Military Terrain and the buildings had no relationship with the state enterprise Artillerie-Inrichtingen. The Sectorpark had its own entrance on the side of the Zijkanaal G and its own landing dock. Although there are two types of ammunition magazines - two large and two small buildings - these are not identical in layout. Post-war lightning conductors have been installed around the buildings of the entire cluster.
The ammunition magazines are mutually separated by earthen protective embankments of approximately 4 metres in height, which together form a cross. The cluster is also separated by an earthen embankment from the adjacent A-building cluster. Around M6-M9 there was a narrow-gauge railway, now disappeared, with branches to the buildings. Description
The building has a rectangular ground plan with an area of 14.20 x 42.20 metres and is constructed of reinforced concrete with slightly recessed wall surfaces between the columns. The walls in this building, uniquely, are not plastered, which means that the board and grain structure of the wood in which the concrete was once poured is still visible. However, like the other M-buildings, the ventilation openings have been sealed. The very gently sloping roof is covered with concrete and bitumen and is characterised by an overhang. The roof is set as a light structure somewhat loosely on top with a view to possible explosions (so-called blast roof).
The front facade (north) is articulated by four pairs of double steel doors set in columns, of which the 2nd door from the left is now sealed. Via these 4 pairs of doors the building formerly connected to the narrow-gauge railway. Both side facades and rear facade are closed.
The interior currently consists of a corridor and six rooms containing the concrete trusses with beam layer on which the roof rests. In some rooms recent partition walls of white brick have been placed. In the concrete exterior walls the ventilation openings closeable with wooden shutters can still be seen. In the concrete floor there are still rails from the ammunition lorries including turntables.
Valuation
The former AMMUNITION MAGAZINE M9 (301) is of cultural, military and architectural historical value as an example of a concrete military magazine from the first half of the 20th century and is also of importance as a historically-functional component of the Stelling van Amsterdam, in particular the former Sectorpark Zaandam on the Hembrug site.
