Omschrijving onderdeel 1: Aarden wallen
Inleiding
AARDEN WALLEN omgeven of verdelen de gebouwen in het Sectorpark Zaandam en het B-cluster en dienen om overslag van de gevolgen van een explosie te voorkomen door druk en losvliegend materiaal op te vangen. In het geval van het Sectorpark wordt de aarden wal bovendien door een opvallende kruisvorm temidden van M6/M9 gekenmerkt. Zonder de aarden wal zou niet meer inzichtelijk zijn waarom de magazijnen op de huidige wijze ten opzichte van elkaar gepositioneerd zijn.

Introduction
EARTHEN RAMPARTS surround or divide the buildings in the Sectorpark Zaandam and the B-cluster and serve to prevent the impact of explosions by catching pressure and flying debris.
