BEELD, TEMPEL EN KEERMUUR MET TRAPPEN IN PRINSESSETUIN behorend bij de historische buitenplaats De Paauw. Gelegen ten zuiden van het hoofdgebouw is de door architect H.H.A. Wentzel in 1851 ontworpen bloementuin met recht padenverloop met middenas geïnspireerd op de antieke oudheid met tempel, godenbeelden, pergola's en stibadium. De meeste beelden zijn verwoest of beschadigd geraakt in de Tweede Wereldoorlog (onderdelen liggen ten dele opgeslagen op de kwekerij). Het stibadium staat thans op buitenplaats Het Laar te Ommen. (Monumentnummer 513545) De verdiepte tuin wordt door een lage gemetselde MUUR begrensd met twee GEMETSELDE TRAPPEN; bestrating in visgraatmotief. Aan het (oost-)einde van de middenlaan een op een verhoging staand TEMPELTJE in neoclassicistische stijl met vier Dorische zuilen en een frontonbekroning. In het tempeltje bevindt zich een zinken BEELD van de gevleugelde Nike. Het beeld stond oorspronkelijk in de toegangslaan naar de Prinsessetuin. Het beeld is geïnspireerd op Duitse voorbeelden (Berlijn en Potsdam). De ornamenten dateren uit de tweede helft van de 19de eeuw.

SCULPTURE, TEMPLE AND RETAINING WALL WITH STEPS IN PRINSESSETUIN belonging to the historical country estate De Paauw. Located to the south of the main building is the flower garden designed by architect H.H.A. Wentzel in 1851 with straight path layout with central axis inspired by classical antiquity with temple, divine sculptures, pergolas and stibadium. Most of the sculptures were destroyed or damaged in the Second World War (components are partly stored at the nursery). The stibadium now stands at country estate Het Laar in Ommen. (Monument number 513545) The sunken garden is bounded by a low brick WALL with two BRICK STEPS; paving in herringbone pattern. At the (east) end of the central lane a SMALL TEMPLE in neoclassical style standing on a raised platform with four Doric columns and a pediment decoration. In the temple is a zinc SCULPTURE of the winged Nike. The sculpture originally stood in the access lane to the Prinsessetuin. The sculpture is inspired by German examples (Berlin and Potsdam). The ornaments date from the second half of the 19th century.
