Inleiding
BASCULEBRUG "1e Coolhavenbrug", deel uitmakend van het complex "Parksluizen", gelegen over het binnenhoofd van de Grote Parksluis, in de Willem Buytewechstraat.
Omschrijving
De brug is gefundeerd op houten palen. De landhoofden zijn gebouwd van beton en metselwerk. De beweegbare brug is van Union Baustahl (staal 52) in plaats van het gebruikelijke staal 37, waardoor een lagere bouwprijs kon worden berekend. Het brugdek is van hout. De val is 14,7 meter lang en 20 meter breed. De brug wordt electro-mechanisch aangedreven. De afsluiting geschiedt electro-hydraulisch. De doorvaartbreedte is 13,65 meter. De brug heeft gemetselde hoekpijlers met granieten bekroningen en is voorzien van een eenvoudige stalen brugleuning met verticale spijlen.

BASCULE BRIDGE "1st Coolhavenbrug", forming part of the complex "Parksluizen", located over the inner head of the Grote Parksluis, in the Willem Buytewechstraat.
Description
The bridge is founded on wooden piles. The bridge abutments are built of concrete and masonry. The movable bridge is of Union Baustahl (steel 52) instead of the customary steel 37, which allowed for a lower construction price to be calculated. The bridge deck is of wood. The span is 14.7 metres long and 20 metres wide. The bridge is electro-mechanically driven. The closure is electro-hydraulic. The navigation width is 13.65 metres. The bridge has masonry corner piers with granite coping and is fitted with a simple steel bridge railing with vertical spindles.
