Inleiding
ISOLEERBARAK voor de geïsoleerde behandeling van besmettelijke zieken, deel uitmakend van het uit 1930-1933 daterende complex Quarantaine-inrichting en gebouwd in zakelijk-expressionistische trant. De barak bestaat uit een luchtsluis bij de ingang, een aparte spoel- en voedselkeuken en afzonderlijke ruimtes voor de zieken en is gesitueerd aan de oostrand van het terrein tussen het zusterhuis (westelijk) en de ziekenbarak (zuidelijk). De hoofdgevel bevindt zich parallel aan de Nieuwe Maas.
Omschrijving
ISOLEERBARAK op een symmetrische plattegrond met een rechthoekig bouwvolume parallel aan de Nieuwe Maas en haaks hierop aan de noordzijde - aan weerszijden en in het midden - korte en minder hoge dwarsvleugels. De noordgevel heeft aan weerszijden van de middelste uitbouw zeven rechthoekige vensters met roedenverdeling. De middelste uitbouw heeft aan de noordzijde aan weerszijden van het risalerende deel in het midden een deur onder een betonnen luifel. De noordgevels van de dwarsvleugels aan weerszijden van het gebouw zijn voorzien van twee rechthoekige vensters met roedenverdeling. De zuidgevel van de hoofdvolume heeft in het midden tien hoge tot vlak onder de dakrand reikende vensters met roedenverdeling met aan weerszijden twee kleine vensters en in de uiteinden van de gevels twee hoge vensters conform in het midden.
