Omschrijving onderdeel 30: SLUIS.
In de bocht van de weg op het punt waar de Kloostersteeg overgaat in de Appeldijk bevindt zich een 19de-eeuwse bakstenen sluis. Onder het wegdek is de korfboogvormige sluisopening met een sluisdeur in het midden. Aan weerszijden van de opening keermuren voorzien van vlechtingen in het metselwerk met aan de zuidoostzijde een oude waterpeilsteen. In de bocht van de weg staat aan één zijde een eenvoudig ijzeren hek.

De SLUIS behorend tot de historische buitenplaats Mariënwaerdt is van algemeen belang:

Description
Description of component 30: SLUICE.
In the bend of the road at the point where the Kloostersteeg merges into the Appeldijk is located a 19th-century brick sluice. Beneath the road surface is the basket-arch-shaped sluice opening with a sluice gate in the middle. On either side of the opening are retaining walls provided with wattling in the brickwork with on the southeast side an old water level stone. In the bend of the road stands a simple iron gate on one side.
