Omschrijving onderdeel 28: BOERDERIJ 'DE HOGE SLUIS'.
In een bocht van de Appeldijk aan de Linge ligt een 18de-eeuwse bakstenen boerderij van het hallehuistype met dwars geplaatst woonhuis (krukhuis), die al in de 15de-eeuwse pachtboeken van Mariënwaerdt genoemd wordt. Oorspronkelijk lag het goed aan een aftakking van de Linge, die met een zijtak het klooster omsloot en waarvan thans een sloot gelegen voor het voorhuis (west) resteert. Het op rechthoekige grondslag opgetrokken woonhuis met gedeeltelijk gepleisterde plint bestaat uit één bouwlaag en een kapverdieping onder een met rode pannen gedekt zadeldak tussen topgevels met een gemetselde schoorsteen op de nok. De naar de weg gekeerde drie-assige voorgevel (zuid) heeft links een toegangsdeur met zesruits bovenlicht, rechts daarvan twee negenruits vensters en in de top -met vlechtingen- een twintigruits venster; in de oostgevel meerruits vensters. De vensters hebben hardstenen lekdorpels.
De op rechthoekige grondslag opgetrokken stal is overkapt door een rieten wolfdak en heeft een uitgebouwd, onderkelderd verdiepingloos voorhuis onder een met rode pannen gedekt schilddak waarvan de nok lager ligt dan die van de stal. In het voorhuis en uitbouw bevinden zich vernieuwde meerruits vensters. De zuidelijke zijgevel heeft drie kleine stalvensters; de noordelijke zijgevel heeft een kelderdeur in het voorhuis en het achterhuis (stal) een deels opgetild dak rustend op een nieuwere gevel waarin twee loopdeuren met een vierruits zijlicht en twee vierkante vensterlichten zijn aangebracht. De symmetrisch ingedeelde achtergevel (oost) met vlechtingen heeft dubbele deeldeuren onder een tot een latei gedichte segmentboog geflankeerd door een rondboog stalvenster en loopdeur.

Description of component 28: FARMHOUSE 'DE HOGE SLUIS'.
In a bend of the Appeldijk on the Linge lies an 18th-century brick farmhouse of the hall-house type with a transversely placed dwelling house (crook house), already mentioned in 15th-century rent books of Mariënwaerdt. Originally the property was situated on a branch of the Linge, which with a tributary enclosed the monastery and of which a ditch now remains located in front of the front house (west). The dwelling house, built on a rectangular ground plan with a partially rendered plinth, consists of one storey and a roof space under a tiled gabled roof between gable ends with a brick chimney on the ridge. The front facade (south) facing the road has three bays, with an entrance door on the left with a six-pane fanlight, two nine-pane windows to its right and in the top - with wattling - a twenty-pane window; the east gable has multi-pane windows. The windows have ashlar drip mouldings.
The stable, built on a rectangular ground plan, is covered by a thatched half-hipped roof and has an extended, semi-subterranean single-storey front building under a tiled hipped roof of which the ridge is lower than that of the stable. In the front building and extension are renewed multi-pane windows. The southern side gable has three small stable windows; the northern side gable has a cellar door in the front building and the rear building (stable) a partly lifted roof resting on a newer gable in which two swing doors with a four-pane side light and two square window lights have been inserted. The symmetrically arranged rear gable (east) with wattling has double swing doors under a segmental arch converted to a lintel flanked by a round arch stable window and swing door.
