Omschrijving onderdeel 6: WASPLAATS.
De wasplaats, genaamd de Sprunk. De verschijningsvorm is 20ste-eeuws. Aan de voet van het hoge terras waar kerk en markt gelegen zijn, ter plaatse van de wasplaats, treedt kwel op (Sprunk = watersprong of kwel. Oorspronkelijk als drenkplaats voor vee in gebruik. In de 20ste eeuw is de loop van de Bosbeek omgeleid naar 'de Sprunk'. Samen met het kwelwater kon het schone water van de Bosbeek hier door de dorpelingen gebruikt worden.
Wasplaats, bestaande uit een rechthoekige vijver omgeven door bakstenen keermuren gemetseld in visgraatpatroon en rondom voorzien van een keibestrating. Aan de kasteelzijde is de wasplaats voorzien van een dwars geplaatste overkapping, een met rode pannen gedekt schilddak op gemetselde stenen zuilen.
Waardering
De WASPLAATS, onderdeel van de historische buitenplaats d'Erp, is van algemeen belang wegens:
- de ouderdom van de functie ter plaatse;
- de visuele en historische samenhang met het kasteel;

Description of component 6: WASHPLACE.
The washplace, called the Sprunk. The appearance is 20th century. At the foot of the high terrace where the church and market are located, at the site of the washplace, seepage occurs (Sprunk = water spring or seepage. Originally used as a watering place for cattle. In the 20th century the course of the Bosbeek was diverted to 'the Sprunk'. Together with the seepage water, the clean water of the Bosbeek could be used here by the villagers.
Washplace, consisting of a rectangular pond surrounded by brick retaining walls laid in herringbone pattern and provided all around with gravel paving. On the castle side the washplace is provided with a transversely positioned roof covering, a hipped roof covered with red tiles on mortared stone columns.

The WASHPLACE, component of the historic country estate d'Erp, is of general importance because of:
