Omschrijving
Omschrijving onderdeel 4: CASCADE.
In het midden van de zuidzijde van het waterbassin bevindt zich een cascade in beton en baksteen, daterend uit 1933. De cascade, zijnde een kunstmatige waterval met traptreden, diende voor toevoer en beluchting van het beekwater van de Slinge en werd omstreeks 1970 buiten werking gesteld wegens vervuiling van de beek.
Waardering
De bakstenen CASCADE in het midden van de zuidzijde van het waterbassin en daterend uit 1933 vertegenwoordigt het algemeen belang wegens:
- de ouderdom;
- de historische en functionele betrokkenheid op het complex;
- als pendant van het paviljoen aan de overzijde van het waterbassin;
- de sierende betekenis voor het complex;
- de praktische en doelmatige vormgeving.

In the middle of the south side of the water basin there is a cascade in concrete and brick, dating from 1933. The cascade, being an artificial waterfall with stepped treads, served for supply and aeration of the stream water from the Slinge and was taken out of operation around 1970 due to pollution of the stream.
