Omschrijving onderdeel 11: TUINSIERADEN.
Inleiding
TUINSIERADEN, te weten:
a. zandstenen zonnewijzer, XVIII; gesitueerd in de rozentuin ten westen van het huis, op dito sokkel in L.XIV-stijl;
b. een loden tuinvaas, XVIII, gesitueerd midden in het ronde grasperk op het voorplein;
c. een stel stenen palen aan de Ruurloseweg aan het begin van de oprijlaan, als markering van de ingang.
Omschrijving
ZONNEWIJZER (11a) op hoge vierkante sokkel met kwartronde hoeken, aan onderzijde voluutvormig uitkragend. Op een der schachtzijden het wapen van Dorth plus initialen RvD. Zonnewijzer vaasvormig, rijk gedecoreerde florale motieven; aan vier zijden een verticale ovale wijzerplaat.
Zware urnvormige, loden TUINVAAS (11b) in L.XVI-stijl, geplaatst op een laag zandstenen voetstuk, gedecoreerd met vruchten. Vaas met groteskevormige oren eindigend in vrouwenkopjes. Kelk met voorstellingen van zee- en riviergoden.
Stel forse lage hardstenen PALEN (11c), XIX, met vierkante doorsnede en een plat pyramidale beëindiging; de naam Medler in witte verf.
Waardering
De TUINSIERADEN (11a,b,c), onderdelen van de historische buitenplaats het Medler, zijn van algemeen belang:

GARDEN ORNAMENTS, namely:
a. sandstone sundial, 18th century; situated in the rose garden to the west of the house, on likewise socle in Louis XIV style;
b. a lead garden urn, 18th century, situated in the middle of the round grass plot on the forecourt;
c. a pair of stone bollards on the Ruurloseweg at the beginning of the drive, as marking of the entrance.
Description
SUNDIAL (11a) on high square socle with quarter-round corners, projecting volute-shaped at the underside. On one of the shaft sides the coat of arms of Dorth plus initials RvD. Sundial vase-shaped, richly decorated with floral motifs; on four sides a vertical oval dial face.
Heavy urn-shaped, lead GARDEN URN (11b) in Louis XVI style, placed on a low sandstone base, decorated with fruit. Urn with grotesque-shaped ears ending in female heads. Chalice with representations of sea and river gods.
Pair of substantial low bluestone BOLLARDS (11c), 19th century, with square cross-section and a flat pyramidal termination; the name Medler in white paint.
