Omschrijving onderdeel 10: HEKKEN.
Inleiding
HEKKEN onderdeel van de historische buitenplaats het Medler, te weten:
a. de hekken op het voorplein van het huiseiland;
b. het hek op de aarden dam, die van het huiseiland naar de voormalige boomgaard voert.
Omschrijving
Lage hekken (10a), XIXc, ter afsluiting van de bloementuinen ter weerszijden van het huis. De rijk gesmede hekdelen staan tussen lage vierkante zandstenen palen met pyramide-vormige beëindiging.
Het smeedijzeren hek (10b) op de aarden dam heeft twee ranke vierkante zandstenen pijlers met vierkante helmvormige bekroning op de dekplaat, XVIII. Gesmede hekvleugels met rijke detaillering; spijlen alternerend eindigend in speerpunten en gegolfde punten.

Description
Low gates (10a), 19th century, to close off the flower gardens on either side of the house. The richly wrought gate sections stand between low square sandstone pillars with pyramid-shaped finials.
The wrought-iron gate (10b) on the earthen dam has two slender square sandstone piers with square helmet-shaped cresting on the coping stone, 18th century. Wrought gate wings with rich detailing; balusters alternating ending in spear points and wavy points.
