Inleiding
Gebouw 15a ligt vrijstaand, ten zuiden van gebouw 15, in de noordwestelijke oksel van de T-kruising van de noordelijke oost-west gerichte laan en de toegangsweg tot Vrijland-Noord. Gebouw 15a is een in 1941 als 'Sonderbau' tot stand gekomen transformatorhuis / elektriciteitshuis en is op macroniveau onderdeel van een grote militaire vliegveldstructuur uit de jaren 1940-1945, op mesoniveau van een ijl complex van in een rechthoekig-geometrische structuur geplaatste gebouwen, en hierin op microniveau van enige relatief solitair en in directe aansluiting op die ruimtelijke structuur geplaatste panden. Het gebouw verkeert in tamelijk verwaarloosde staat.
Omschrijving
Eenlaags, vlak gedekt, met betonnen overstek uitgevoerd en van een door een tentkapje afgedekte schoorsteen voorzien bakstenen TRANSFORMATORHUIS / ELEKTRICITEITSHUIS op vrijwel rechthoekige plattegrond. Rondom rollaag als einde van plint. In de westelijke langsgevel / hoofdgevel links een toegang met plaatstalen deur onder rollaag en rechts een venster met bakstenen lekdorpel, voorzien van thans afgesloten in vieren verdeeld ijzeren raam. Oud schakelmateriaal en verlichting bij toegang. De oostelijke gevel vergelijkbaar. Noord- en zuidgevel blind uitgevoerd. Interieur bevat resten van elektrische installatie; wit gepleisterde muren en plafond.

TRANSFORMATORHUIS / ELEKTRICITEITSHUIS, van algemeen belang als herkenbaar onderdeel van een uit de Tweede Wereldoorlog stammend en door de Duitse bezetter als onderdeel van een groot militair vliegveld opgezet legerkamp, vanwege: architectuurhistorische, stedenbouwkundige, krijgs- en cultuurhistorische en complex- en ensemblewaarden, die onder meer kunnen blijken uit de voor de bouwtijd kenmerkende onderdelen en details, uit de kunstmatig opgezette, sterk bij de vooraf bestaande ruimtelijke inrichting aansluitende geometrische nederzettingsstructuur en de hierbinnen tot in detaillering doorgevoerde camouflage, uit de samenhang van en met het totale militaire vliegveldconcept en de ruimtelijke hoofdlijnen en onderdelen van het kampement, en uit de onderlinge verwantschap van de hierbij toegepaste vormen.

Introduction
Building 15a stands detached, to the south of building 15, in the northwestern angle of the T-junction of the northern east-west oriented avenue and the access road to Vrijland-Noord. Building 15a is a transformer house / electricity house created in 1941 as a 'Sonderbau' and at macro level forms part of a large military airfield structure from the years 1940-1945, at meso level part of a sparse complex of buildings arranged in a rectangular-geometric structure, and within this at micro level one of several relatively solitary buildings positioned in direct connection with that spatial structure. The building is in a fairly neglected state.
Description
Single-storey, flat-roofed, executed with a concrete overhang and furnished with a chimney covered by a small tent roof, brick TRANSFORMER HOUSE / ELECTRICITY HOUSE on virtually rectangular plan. Roller course all around as termination of plinth. In the western long side / principal facade to the left an entrance with sheet-steel door beneath a roller course and to the right a window with brick drip moulding, furnished with an iron frame now closed and divided into four parts. Old switchgear and lighting at entrance. The eastern facade comparable. North and south facades executed blank. Interior contains remains of electrical installation; white rendered walls and ceiling.

TRANSFORMER HOUSE / ELECTRICITY HOUSE, of general importance as a recognisable component of a military camp dating from the Second World War and set up by the German occupier as part of a large military airfield, on account of: architectural-historical, urban planning, military and cultural-historical and complex and ensemble values, which can be demonstrated inter alia by components and details characteristic of the building period, by the artificially created geometric settlement structure closely corresponding to the pre-existing spatial layout, and the camouflage implemented throughout to the finest detail within it, by the coherence of and with the total military airfield concept and the spatial main lines and components of the encampment, and by the mutual affinity of the forms employed herein.
