Inleiding
Gebouw 15 ligt vrijstaand ten noorden van gebouw 15a, in de noordwestelijke oksel van de T-kruising van de noordelijke oost-west gerichte laan en de toegangsweg tot Vrijland-Noord. De daknok is noord-zuid gericht en ligt evenwijdig aan de toegangsweg. Gebouw 15 is een in 1941 als 'Sonderbau' tot stand gekomen transformatorhuis / elektriciteitshuis en is op macroniveau onderdeel van een grote militaire vliegveldstructuur uit de jaren 1940-1945, op mesoniveau van een ijl complex van in een rechthoekig-geometrische structuur geplaatste gebouwen, en hierin op microniveau van enige relatief solitair en in directe aansluiting op die ruimtelijke structuur geplaatste panden.
Omschrijving
Eenlaags bakstenen TRANSFORMATORHUIS / ELEKTRICITEITSHUIS op rechthoekige plattegrond en gedekt door een met grauwe gegolfde sneldekpannen belegd, aan beide zijden afgewolfd zadeldak. In de westelijke langsgevel / hoofdgevel drie toegangen met plaatstalen deuren onder rollaag; in de oostelijke links één plaatstalen deur en rechts twee ventilatieroosters. Kopse zuidgevel voorzien van drie vensters onder rollaag en met bakstenen lekdorpel, voorzien van horizontaal verdeelde stalen ramen; de noordgevel blind op een tweetal ventilatieroosters na. Mastgoten. Het pand is nog steeds in dezelfde functie in gebruik.

TRANSFORMATORHUIS / ELEKTRICITEITSHUIS, van algemeen belang als goed herkenbaar en nog functionerend onderdeel van een uit de Tweede Wereldoorlog stammend en door de Duitse bezetter als onderdeel van een groot militair vliegveld opgezet legerkamp, vanwege: architectuurhistorische, stedenbouwkundige, krijgs- en cultuurhistorische en complex- en ensemblewaarden, die onder meer kunnen blijken uit de op locale vormen geïnspireerde traditionalistische bouwtrant, uit de voor de bouwtijd kenmerkende onderdelen en details, uit de kunstmatig opgezette en sterk bij de vooraf bestaande ruimtelijke inrichting aansluitende geometrische nederzettingsstructuur en de hierbinnen tot in detaillering doorgevoerde camouflage, uit de samenhang van en met het totale militaire vliegveldconcept en de ruimtelijke hoofdlijnen en onderdelen van het kampement, en uit de onderlinge verwantschap van de hierbij toegepaste vormen.

Introduction
Building 15 stands detached to the north of building 15a, in the northwestern angle of the T-junction of the northern east-west oriented avenue and the access road to Vrijland-Noord. The roof ridge is oriented north-south and runs parallel to the access road. Building 15 is a transformer house / electricity house created in 1941 as a 'Sonderbau' and at macro level forms part of a large military airfield structure from the years 1940-1945, at meso level part of a sparse complex of buildings arranged in a rectangular-geometric structure, and within this at micro level one of several relatively solitary buildings positioned in direct connection with that spatial structure.
Description
Single-storey brick TRANSFORMER HOUSE / ELECTRICITY HOUSE on rectangular plan and covered by a gabled roof lined with grey corrugated roofing tiles, hipped at both sides. In the western long side / principal facade three entrances with sheet-steel doors beneath a roller course; in the eastern side to the left one sheet-steel door and to the right two ventilation grilles. Gable end south facade fitted with three windows beneath a roller course and with brick drip moulding, furnished with horizontally divided steel frames; the north facade blind except for two ventilation grilles. Zinc gutters. The building is still in use in the same function.

TRANSFORMER HOUSE / ELECTRICITY HOUSE, of general importance as a readily recognisable and still functioning component of a military camp dating from the Second World War and set up by the German occupier as part of a large military airfield, on account of: architectural-historical, urban planning, military and cultural-historical and complex and ensemble values, which can be demonstrated inter alia by the traditionalist building style inspired by local forms, by components and details characteristic of the building period, by the artificially created geometric settlement structure closely corresponding to the pre-existing spatial layout and the camouflage implemented throughout to the finest detail within it, by the coherence of and with the total military airfield concept and the spatial main lines and components of the encampment, and by the mutual affinity of the forms employed herein.
