Omschrijving onderdeel 4:
TOEGANGSBRUG. De representatieve ingangspartij van Huis Ruurlo aan het voorplein wordt voorafgegaan door een uit rode baksteen opgetrokken brug met dubbele bogen, afgezet met hardstenen banden en sluitstenen, aan landzijde met natuurstenen bollen beëindigd. De brughoofden aan kasteelzijde zijn enigszins afgerond en omsluiten op die manier de trappen naar het onderhuis, die zich ter weerszijden van de trap naar de hoofdingang bevinden. Een ornamentele smeedijzeren balustrade begeleid het brugdek, dat met hardstenen platen geplaveid is. De brug dateert uit de 18de eeuw. Tegen de bogen van de brug zijn de jaartallen Anno 1708 en 1771 aangebracht.
Waardering De TOEGANGSBRUG behorende tot de historische buitenplaats Ruurlo is van algemeen belang:

ACCESS BRIDGE. The representative entrance section of Huis Ruurlo on the forecourt is preceded by a bridge constructed of red brick with double arches, set off with stone bands and keystones, at the land side terminated with natural stone balls. The bridge abutments at castle side are somewhat rounded and in this way enclose the stairs to the basement level, which are situated on either side of the stair to the main entrance. An ornamental wrought-iron balustrade guides the bridge deck, which is paved with stone slabs. The bridge dates from the 18th century. Against the arches of the bridge the years Anno 1708 and 1771 are inscribed.
