Omschrijving onderdeel 2: HISTORISCHE TUIN- EN PARKAANLEG.
De historische tuin- en parkaanleg bestaat uit een over het algemeen rechte lanenstructuur (ten noordwesten van de Allée voor het Huis) waarbinnen zich het huis, de moestuin, de vierlobbige vijver en de Mooie Wei bevinden en een diagonaal lopende lanenstructuur (ten zuidoosten van de Allée voor het Huis) waar de wandel- en hakhoutbossen deels met landschappelijke elementen zijn gelegen. De Grote Laan of Allée voor het Huis is beplant met eiken, overgaand in een dubbele beukenlaan.
Op het ellipsvormige terrein voor het huis twee forse solitairen (rode beuk) en een halve maanvormige vijver uit omstreeks 1930. Aan de rand van de rondlopende oprijlaan een houten prieel (zie hiervoor onderdeel 8). Direct achter het huis en daarmee verbonden door een beukenberceau bevindt zich de laat 18de-eeuwse moestuin die aan de oost- en noordkant is ommuurd (zie hiervoor onderdeel 6). Midden door de moestuin loopt een pad dat uitkomt op een hek met gemetselde hekposten (zie hiervoor onderdeel 4) naar het bouwhuis (zie hiervoor de onderdelen 3A en 3B).
De vierlobbige vijver ten noordoosten van de moestuin van omstreeks 1780 heeft rondom een beplanting van lindes die een wandelpad om de vijver begeleiden. Ten noorden van de vijver staat een duiventil (zie hiervoor onderdeel 5).
De Mooie Wei in het noordoostelijk deel van het park met een paar boomgroepen wordt afgesloten met een gebogen bosrand.
Halverwege de Sophialaan, een van de diagonale lanen ten zuidwesten van de Allée voor het Huis bevindt zich een hoger gelegen rotonde uit de eerste helft van de 19de eeuw, beplant met beuken (aan de noordkant na de Tweede Wereldoorlog hersteld).
Het zuidwestelijk deel van het wandelbos binnen een driehoek van rechte lanen is licht glooiend. Hierbinnen slingerende beukenlanen als 'aangename wandelingen' die de natuurlijke gesteldheid van het terrein volgen. Deze aanleg dateert van het midden van de 19de eeuw. Tussen de lanen hakhoutbossen en naaldhout.

De TUIN- EN PARKAANLEG behorend tot de historische buitenplaats Leur is van algemeen cultuur- en tuinhistorisch belang;

Description
Description of component 2: HISTORIC GARDEN AND PARK LAYOUT.
The historic garden and park layout consists of a generally straight avenue structure (to the northwest of the Allée for the House) within which are the house, the vegetable garden, the four-lobed pond and the Mooie Wei, and a diagonally running avenue structure (to the southeast of the Allée for the House) where the walking and coppice woods are partly laid out with landscape elements. The Grote Laan or Allée for the House is planted with oaks, transitioning into a double beech avenue.
On the elliptical terrain in front of the house two impressive specimen trees (copper beech) and a crescent-shaped pond from approximately 1930. At the edge of the circular drive-way a wooden arbour (see component 8 for this). Directly behind the house and connected to it by a beech pergola is the late 18th-century vegetable garden which is walled on the east and north sides (see component 6 for this). A path runs through the middle of the vegetable garden which leads to a gate with brick gate posts (see component 4 for this) towards the service building (see components 3A and 3B for this).
The four-lobed pond to the northeast of the vegetable garden dating from approximately 1780 has around it a planting of limes which accompany a walking path around the pond. To the north of the pond stands a dovecote (see component 5 for this).
The Mooie Wei in the northeastern part of the park with a couple of tree groups is bounded by a curved woodland edge.
Halfway along the Sophialaan, one of the diagonal avenues to the southwest of the Allée for the House, is a raised roundabout from the first half of the 19th century, planted with beeches (restored on the north side after the Second World War).
The southwestern part of the walking woods within a triangle of straight avenues is gently sloping. Within it winding beech avenues as 'pleasant walks' which follow the natural contours of the terrain. This layout dates from the middle of the 19th century. Between the avenues coppice woods and coniferous woodland.
Assessment
The GARDEN AND PARK LAYOUT belonging to the historic country estate Leur is of general cultural and garden historical importance;
- by reason of the virtually unchanged late 18th-century structure of the layout;
- by reason of a mid-19th-century landscape alteration within the 18th-century avenue pattern;
- by reason of the combination of ornamental (pond and walking park) with practical (vegetable garden);
- by reason of the visually spatial context in which the buildings have been deliberately positioned.
