Inleiding
Als enige verwijzing naar de religieuze functie van Russendaal is waarschijnlijk kort na 1945 een Mariakapel opgericht. De kapel bevindt zich direct achter de kom in het oostelijke parkgedeelte.

KAPEL. Bakstenen stèle, wit geschilderd en voorzien van een afdak. In het bouwwerk een door middel van een hekwerk afgesloten nis waarin een Mariabeeld.
Waardering
De kleine kapel is van algemeen belang vanwege:
- de sobere, naar het schijnt in zelfwerkzaamheid opgetrokken uitvoering;
- de functie van kapel, de enige plek in het park die duidelijk naar de religieuze functie verwijst.
