Aan de oostzijde van de Diamantstraat vrijstaand gelegen WOONBLOK met ARBEIDERSWONINGEN. Aan de noord- en zuidzijde kopse gevel. Het woonblok Diamantstraat 1-15 bestaat oorspronkelijk uit 8 arbeiderswoningen. Aaneengesloten gevelwand met 16 traveeën (8 deur- en 8 vensterassen) op geaccentueerde plint van één bouwlaag onder zadeldak met donkere rechtsdekkende Hollandse pannen. Zijgevels met enkel zoldervenster en met uitkragende schouderstukken, afdeklijsten en getrapte tuit. De lage voorgevel heeft een rechte en houten gootlijst boven gemetselde drievoudige uitkraging en vier dakkapellen boven de iets risalerende toegangspartijen. De dakkapellen hebben een gekoppeld venster en een fries boven gemetselde muurdammen waarop kroonlijst met renaissancistisch fronton met blind timpaan en drie pirons. Kleine gepleisterde klauwstukken bij de aanhechting met de gootlijst. De lage bebouwing heeft per twee woningen steeds een toegangspartij met twee naastliggende paneeldeuren met in enkele gevallen de oorspronkelijke gelede bovenlichten. Hierboven de dakkapel. Zowel links als rechts van de toegangspartijen de enkele vensters van de voorkamers. Vensters en deuren onder segmentboog met gemetseld spaarveld. Segmentbogen en gevels gesierd met blokken en banden in gele baksteen. Aan de gevel bevinden zich muurankers en kleine vergaarbakken. Achtergevel met per woning een enkel venster en toegangsdeur tot de tuin.
Waardering
Centraal-oostelijk woonblok met arbeiderswoningen uit 1890-1891 van algemeen belang vanwege de architectuur-, cultuur- en sociaal-historische alsmede typologische waarde. Van belang als essentieel onderdeel van het complex van de Woning-Maatschappij.

A FREE-STANDING RESIDENTIAL BLOCK with WORKERS' DWELLINGS situated on the eastern side of Diamantstraat. Stepped gable on the north and south sides. The residential block Diamantstraat 1-15 originally consists of 8 workers' dwellings. Continuous facade with 16 bays (8 door and 8 window axes) on an accentuated plinth of one storey under a gabled roof with dark right-laid Dutch tiles. Side gables with a single attic window and with projecting shoulder pieces, coping mouldings and stepped spout gable. The low front facade has a straight and wooden drip moulding above a brickwork triple corbelling and four roof dormers above the slightly projecting entrance sections. The roof dormers have a coupled window and a frieze above brickwork mullions with cornice and renaissance fronton with blind tympanum and three pirons. Small rendered claw pieces at the junction with the drip moulding. The low building has, for every two dwellings, an entrance section with two adjacent panelled doors with in some cases the original leaded fanlights. Above this the roof dormer. On both left and right of the entrance sections the single windows of the front rooms. Windows and doors under segmental arch with brickwork spandrel. Segmental arches and facades decorated with blocks and bands in yellow brick. The facade has wall anchors and small water tanks. Rear facade with per dwelling a single window and access door to the garden.
Valuation
Central-eastern residential block with workers' dwellings from 1890-1891 of general importance due to its architectural, cultural and socio-historical as well as typological value. Important as an essential component of the Woning-Maatschappij complex.
