In 1907 tot stand gekomen voormalige PORTIERSLOGE op rechthoekige plattegrond onder plat dak en met gemetselde gedrongen pijlers met natuurstenen afdekking op de vier hoeken. Rechthoekig gebouwtje van één bouwlaag en met gemetselde gevels in oranje-gele verblendsteen in kruisverband afgewisseld met decoratief gebruik van rode verblendsteen in bandwerk en bij togingen en natuurstenen accenten bij toegangspartij, vensters en met in donkere baksteen gemetselde ezelsrugafdekking. Trasraam in donkere steen. Vensters met licht getoogd bovenlicht en afgeschuinde gemetselde benedendorpel en natuurstenen hoekaccenten. Op de NW-hoek een hoger opgetrokken deel met grijswitte wijzerplaat. Hieronder hoofdtoegang met lage stoep en flankerend muurwerk en met houten toegangsdeur met drievoudig geleed licht en met gekoppelde bovenlichten in natuurstenen kader. Aan de rechterzijde drie vensters waartussen gemetselde stijlen. De gevel aan de Tolstraat heeft twee van dergelijke vensters. De noordgevel heeft één dergelijk venster alsmede een toiletvenster met tuimelraam. Blinde tracering van de hogere opbouw aan de rechterzijde. De oostgevel is blind en heeft evenals de westgevel kleine openingen in de geel-rode sierband onder de gevelbeëindiging.
Waardering
Uit 1907 daterende voormalige portiersloge in utilitaire Art Nouveau trant van algemeen belang vanwege de architectuur- en cultuurhistorische en typologische waarde. Van belang wegens ensemblewaarde in relatie tot het stilistisch verwante hoofdgebouw en als historisch-functioneel onderdeel van het complex 'diamantslijperij Asscher'.

Description
Former PORTER'S LODGE created in 1907 on a rectangular ground plan under a flat roof and with mortared squat pilasters with natural stone coping on the four corners. Small rectangular building of one storey with mortared facades in orange-yellow facing brick in Flemish bond alternating with decorative use of red facing brick in banding and at arches and natural stone accents at entrance section, windows and with dark brick mortared saddle-back coping. Plinth course in dark stone. Windows with slightly arched fanlight and bevelled mortared window sill and natural stone corner accents. On the NW corner a section raised higher with grey-white clock face. Below this main entrance with low stoop and flanking masonry and with wooden entrance door with triply-articulated light and with coupled fanlights in natural stone frame. On the right side three windows with mortared mullions between them. The facade on Tolstraat has two such windows. The north facade has one such window as well as a toilet window with pivot window. Blind tracery of the higher structure on the right side. The east facade is blind and has like the west facade small openings in the yellow-red ornamental band below the facade termination.
Valuation
Former porter's lodge dating from 1907 in utilitarian Art Nouveau style of general importance on account of its architectural and cultural-historical and typological value. Important due to ensemble value in relation to the stylistically related main building and as a historically-functional component of the 'diamantslijperij Asscher' complex.
