Aan de zuidzijde van de Lutmastraat gelegen WOONBLOK met ARBEIDERSWONINGEN. Aan de west- en oostzijde aansluitend op de gevelwand van de verdere bebouwing aan de Lutmastraat. Het woonblok Lutmastraat 222-256 bestond oorspronkelijk uit 20 arbeiderswoningen. De twee woningen in de hogere bebouwing aan de westzijde zijn gesloopt. Aaneengesloten gevelwand met 36 traveeën (18 deur- en 18 vensterassen) op geaccentueerde plint en van grotendeels één bouwlaag onder dwars zadeldak met donkergrijze rechtsdekkende Hollandse pannen. In het midden van de gevelwand een risalerend en hoger bouwvolume van twee bouwlagen onder zadeldak. Dit hogere bouwdeel bevatte oorspronkelijk twee woningen. De in hoogte variërende voorgevel heeft een rechte houten gootlijst boven gemetselde drievoudige uitkraging en dakkapellen boven de iets risalerende toegangspartijen. De dakkapellen hebben een gekoppeld venster en een fries boven gemetselde muurdammen waarop kroonlijst met renaissancistisch fronton met blind timpaan en drie pirons. Kleine gepleisterde klauwstukken bij de aanhechting met de gootlijst. Het hogere bouwdeel is vier traveeën breed met toegangspartij met twee naastliggende paneeldeuren met in enkele gevallen de oorspronkelijke gelede bovenlichten. Ook de middenvensters van de verdieping zijn naastliggend. De lagere bebouwing bevat aan weerszijden van het hogere middendeel aan de westzijde zes en aan de oostzijde tien woningen. Per twee woningen zijn ook hier de voordeuren naastliggend. Ook hierboven een dakkapel. Zowel links als rechts van de toegangspartijen de enkele vensters van de voorkamers. Vensters en deuren onder segmentboog met gemetseld spaarveld. Segmentbogen en gevels gesierd met blokken en banden in gele baksteen. Aan de gevel bevinden zich muurankers en kleine vergaarbakken. Achtergevel met per woning een enkel venster en toegangsdeur tot de tuin.
Waardering
Zuidelijk woonblok met arbeiderswoningen uit 1890-1891 van algemeen belang vanwege de architectuur-, cultuur- en sociaal-historische alsmede typologische waarde. Van belang als essentieel onderdeel van het complex van de Woning-Maatschappij.

A RESIDENTIAL BLOCK with WORKERS' DWELLINGS situated on the south side of the Lutmastraat. Adjoining the facade wall of further buildings on the Lutmastraat on the west and east sides. The residential block Lutmastraat 222-256 originally consisted of 20 workers' dwellings. The two dwellings in the higher building on the west side have been demolished. Continuous facade wall with 36 bays (18 door and 18 window axes) on emphasized plinth and largely of one storey under transverse gabled roof with dark grey right-laid Dutch tiles. In the centre of the facade wall a projecting and higher building volume of two storeys under gabled roof. This higher building section originally contained two dwellings. The facade varying in height has a straight wooden drip moulding above mortared triple corbelling and roof dormer windows above the slightly projecting entrance sections. The roof dormer windows have a coupled window and a frieze above mortared wall piers on which sits a cornice with Renaissance fronton with blind tympanum and three pirns. Small plastered claw pieces at the junction with the drip moulding. The higher building section is four bays wide with entrance section with two adjacent panel doors with in some cases the original glazed fanlights. The middle windows of the upper storey are also adjacent. The lower building contains on either side of the higher central section on the west side six and on the east side ten dwellings. Per two dwellings here too the front doors are adjacent. Also above these a roof dormer window. On both sides of the entrance sections single windows of the front rooms. Windows and doors under segmental arch with mortared spandrel. Segmental arches and facades decorated with blocks and bands in yellow brick. On the facade there are wall anchors and small rainwater cisterns. Rear facade with per dwelling a single window and access door to the garden.

Southern residential block with workers' dwellings from 1890-1891 of general importance on account of its architectural, cultural and socio-historical as well as typological value. Of importance as an essential component of the Woning-Maatschappij complex.
