Fabrieksschoorsteen uit 1891.
Omschrijving
De fabrieksschoorsteen bestaat uit drie gedeelten: basement, schacht en kroon. Het basement heeft een vierkant grondvlak dat aan de bovenkant verloopt in een achthoek. Aan vier kanten bevindt zich een blinde nis met rondboog. De schacht heeft een ringvormige doorsnede met aan de voet een geribde manchet. De overstekende kroon heeft een boogfries met eronder eveneens een geribde manchet. Het opgaande werk van de schoorsteen bestaat uit rode handgevormde baksteen met profielstenen afgewisseld door siermetselwerk in manchetten en kroon.
Waardering
De fabrieksschoorsteen is van algemeen belang als één van de drie samenstellende complexonderdelen, tezamen met machinehuis en kantoor. Met het eerste pand heeft het bovendien een sterke functionele relatie. Bovendien is de schoorsteen van cultuur- en architectuurhistorische betekenis vanwege zijn zeldzaamheid en zijn decoratieve uitvoering.

Description
The factory chimney consists of three sections: base, shaft and crown. The base has a square ground plan which tapers to an octagon at the top. On four sides is a blind niche with round arch. The shaft has a ring-shaped cross-section with a ribbed band at the foot. The projecting crown has an arched frieze with below it likewise a ribbed band. The rising work of the chimney consists of red hand-moulded brickwork with moulded bricks alternated by decorative brickwork in bands and crown.
Valuation
The factory chimney is of general importance as one of the three constituent complex components, together with the engine house and office. With the first building it has moreover a strong functional relationship. Moreover, the chimney is of cultural and architectural historical significance because of its rarity and its decorative execution.
