Omschrijving onderdeel 3:
Het PARK van Wulperhorst strekt zich uit over een langgerekt kavel, dat oorspronkelijk tot aan de oevers van de Kromme Rijn liep. Het te beschermen gebied komt overeen met de in de complexomschrijving genoemde begrenzing. Het karakter van het park valt grofweg uiteen in twee delen. Rond het hoofdgebouw is een slingervijver aangelegd, waardoor als het ware een onregelmatig eiland is ontstaan. De slingervijver heeft aan de zuidwest zijde een vertakking die eindigt in een komvijver, die in het beboste deel ligt. De slingervijver sluit in het zuidoosten aan op een rechte sloot. Deze sloot is een waterweg die vanaf de Kromme Rijn toegang bood tot de buitenplaats uit de formele aanleg van de achttiende eeuw. De gracht liep langs het oude huis tot aan de Kromme Rijn en had een lengte van circa anderhalve kilometer.
De landschappelijke aanleg beperkt zich rond de slingervijver. Boom- en struikgroepen worden afgewisseld met open weidegronden die hier en daar geaccidenteerd zijn. Bij de bouw van het huidige landhuis in 1858 door S.A. van Lunteren werd ook het terrein rond het huis door hem enigzins aangepast.
De overige elementen in het park dateren van vóór de landschappelijke aanleg. In het bos aan de zuidwest kant van het park, met de eerder vermelde komvijver, bevinden zich een aantal rechte beukenlanen die, zij het ernstig verstoord, tot aan de spoorlijn lopen. Deze lanen dateren uit de tijd van de formele aanleg. In dit bos bevond zich ook -voordat het park verlandschappelijkt werd- een sterrebos maar daarvan zijn thans geen sporen meer te vinden. Ten noordwesten van het bovengenoemde bos ligt een van oorsprong bij het bezit behorende weide die eveneens onder de rijksbescherming valt. Ten zuidoosten van het bos ligt een boomgaard, waarvan de oorsprong eveneens teruggaat tot in de achttiende eeuw. Deze boomgaard wordt door de waterallee doorsneden en grenst in het zuidoosten aan een rechte sloot, die langs de onverharde Tiendweg loopt. Als afsluiting van het park fungeert de laan van Wulperhorst. In het noordoostelijk deel van het park is een element van waarde de slingervijver, die hier deels doorheen loopt.
Waardering
Een landschappelijk aangelegd park, behorend bij het landhuis Wulperhorst, is van cultuurhistorisch en architectuurhistorisch waarde als bijzondere uitdrukking van een vroege landschappelijke ontwikkelingsgeschiedenis waarin zowel formele als landschappelijke parkelementen terug te vinden zijn. Ook van belang als onderdeel in het oeuvre van S.A. van Lunteren. Alsmede van ensemble waarde vanwege de historisch ruimtelijke relatie met Slot Zeist en het nabij gelegen Blikkenburg en de Stichtse Lustwarande.

The PARK of Wulperhorst extends over a long narrow plot, which originally ran all the way to the banks of the Kromme Rijn. The area to be protected corresponds with the boundary mentioned in the complex description. The character of the park is roughly divided into two parts. Around the main building a winding pond has been laid out, creating as it were an irregular island. The winding pond has a branch on the southwest side which ends in a basin pond, which lies in the wooded area. The winding pond connects in the southeast to a straight ditch. This ditch is a waterway that provided access from the Kromme Rijn to the country estate from the formal layout of the eighteenth century. The canal ran along the old house to the Kromme Rijn and had a length of approximately one and a half kilometres.
The landscape layout is limited around the winding pond. Tree and shrub groups are alternated with open meadows which are here and there undulating. With the construction of the current country house in 1858 by S.A. van Lunteren, the terrain around the house was also somewhat adapted by him.
The other elements in the park date from before the landscape layout. In the wood on the southwest side of the park, with the aforementioned basin pond, there are a number of straight beech avenues which, although seriously disturbed, extend to the railway line. A landscaped park, belonging to the country house Wulperhorst, is of cultural-historical and architectural-historical value as a special expression of an early landscape development history in which both formal and landscape park elements are to be found. Also important as part of the oeuvre of S.A. van Lunteren.
