Inleiding
De HERDENKINGSLICHTMAST is op gericht in 1938 en vermoedelijk ontworpen door H.J. Fels of G. Hamerpagt in een geometrische stijl die aansluit bij de overige gebouwen in de stijl van de Nieuwe Haagse School. De lichtmast is aangeboden door het gezamenlijke personeel ter gelegenheid van de ingebruikname van het nieuwe bedrijfsterrein van de n.v. tot Keuring van Electrotechnische Materialen (KEMA). De KEMA was een nationaal en internationaal opererend onafhankelijk test- en keuringsinstituut. De lichtmast bevindt zich op de rotonde of Rond Point achter de voormalige hoofdingang. Deze rotonde vormde tot de verplaatsing van de hoofdingang het centrale punt waar de vier hoofdwegen samen kwamen.
Omschrijving
HERDENKINGSLICHTMAST bestaande uit een ronde taps toelopende stalen mast met daaraan drie lampen. De mast staat op een bewerkte vierkante sokkel van roze graniet. Aan twee zijden van de sokkel is een opschrift bevestigd, te weten "Onderzoek brengt licht" en "14 oktober 1938". De sokkel staat in een bakstenen vierkante bloembak met granieten afdekplaten. Deze bloembak staat op zijn beurt in een grotere ronde bakstenen bloembak.

The MEMORIAL LIGHT MAST was erected in 1938 and presumably designed by H.J. Fels or G. Hamerpagt in a geometric style consistent with the other buildings in the style of the Nieuwe Haagse School.
