Omschrijving onderdeel 5: CHATELET MET KLEINE VOORBURCHT OF COUR EN DUBBELE BRUG NAAR HET KASTEEL.
Gebouw in rode baksteen met gebeeldhouwde natuurstenen onderdelen zoals erkers en vensteromlijstingen, gerealiseerd in neogotische stijl in verschillende fasen vanaf 1910, bestaande uit toegangspoort met twee houten poortdeuren met smeedijzeren beslag naar de Kleine Voorburcht of Cour en twee vleugels rechts en links van de toegangspoort. Aan de oostzijde omgrachte binnenhof (Kleine Voorburcht of Cour), gedeeltelijk voorzien van rode bakstenen keermuren. Op de Kleine Voorburcht een ronde put van rode baksteen, voorzien van houten deksel, decoratieve smeedijzeren takelconstructie en van vier wapenschilden voorziene huif, met houten ton met smeedijzeren banden. Het houtwerk geschilderd in wit en rood (zilver en keel). Naast de opgang naar de ten oosten hiervan gelegen brug met Duiventoren (zie hieronder) twee natuurstenen gebeeldhouwde leeuwen met wapencartouches.
In het interieur lambriseringen, houtsnijwerk en geschilderde decoraties uit de bouwtijd. Rond het Chatelet staan diverse beelden, sommige verankerd aan het muurwerk, anderen in nissen. Herkomst, ouderdom, materiaal en voorstelling zijn zeer verschillend.
Verbinding in de vorm van een dubbele brug tussen Chatelet en Kasteel bestaande uit een overkapte gang op rode bakstenen pijlers, geïntegreerd in de borstwering van de Kleine Cour omgaande in een rechte hoek in een dubbele brug naar het Kasteel. Gang en Bovenbrug zijn met houten wanden en glas-in-lood vensters gesloten. Het ensemble wordt overkapt door een met leien gedekt schilddak. De brug is geheel in hout opgetrokken en rust op drie rechthoekige stenen pijlers. Ter hoogte van het kasteel gaat de bovenbrug trapsgewijs omhoog.

Description component 5: CHATELET WITH SMALL FORECOURT OR COUR AND DOUBLE BRIDGE TO THE CASTLE.
Building in red brick with carved natural stone components such as oriel windows and window surrounds, realised in neogothic style in different phases from 1910, consisting of an entrance gate with two wooden doors with wrought iron fittings leading to the Small Forecourt or Cour and two wings to the right and left of the entrance gate. On the east side a moated inner courtyard (Small Forecourt or Cour), partly furnished with red brick retaining walls. In the Small Forecourt a round well of red brick, furnished with wooden cover, decorative wrought iron tackle construction and a hood furnished with four armorial shields, with wooden barrel with wrought iron bands. The woodwork painted in white and red (silver and gules). Next to the access to the bridge situated to the east of this with Pigeon Tower (see below) two natural stone carved lions with armorial cartouches.
In the interior wainscots, carved woodwork and painted decorations from the building period. Around the Chatelet stand various sculptures, some anchored to the masonry, others in niches. Origin, age, material and subject matter are very diverse.
Connection in the form of a double bridge between Chatelet and Castle consisting of a covered passage on red brick pillars, integrated into the breastwork surrounding the Small Cour turning at a right angle into a double bridge to the Castle. The bridge is constructed entirely in wood and rests on three rectangular stone pillars. At the height of the castle the upper bridge rises in steps.
