Omschrijving onderdeel 6: HEKWERKEN
Over de gehele breedte van het voorterrein (hoofgebouw en bijgebouw 1913) staat een HEKWERK (vermoedelijk 1913) bestaande uit palen (gefrijnde hardsteen en grindbeton) met eenvoudig cannelure motief, waartussen opengewerkte smeedijzeren panelen in de vorm van elkaar kruisende ezelsrugbogen. Als gevolg van de nieuwe indeling van het voorterrein (omstreeks 1913) staat het TOEGANGSHEK, bestaande uit twee sierlijk gesmede vleugels met opschrift LYNDEN STEYN, niet meer op zijn oorspronkelijk plaats.

Het hek is van belang:

Description of component 6: FENCING
Across the full width of the forecourt (main building and auxiliary building 1913) stands a FENCE (presumed 1913) consisting of posts (fretted hardstone and aggregate concrete) with simple fluting motif, between which open wrought-iron panels in the form of mutually crossing donkey-back arches. As a result of the new layout of the forecourt (around 1913) the ENTRANCE GATE, consisting of two elegantly wrought wings with the inscription LYNDEN STEYN, no longer stands in its original location.
