Omschrijving onderdeel 3: ENSEMBLE VAN TOEGANGSBRUG, TERRAS EN KEERMUREN MET BALUSTRADE behorende tot de buitenplaats Eerde.
Het omgrachte hoofdgebouw is vanaf het voorplein bereikbaar via een boogbrug. Deze brug vormt met haar balustrade één geheel met de kademuren met balustrade, die de zuidzijde van het voorplein begrenzen en met het ovaalvormige terras met balustrade, dat de representatieve opmaat vormt tot de ingangspartij van het huis. Het ensemble heeft vermoedelijk omstreeks 1854 zijn huidige gedaante gekregen, waarschijnlijk naar een ontwerp van architect I.H. Eberson, waarbij de bestaande brug en muren werden geïncorporeerd. Anno 2001 is nog duidelijk herkenbaar dat de balustrades in een latere fase verhoogd zijn. Brug, keermuren en balustrades zijn opgetrokken uit rode baksteen. Een strekkenlaag circa 50 cm. onder de rand van de balustrades markeert de overgang van het oude naar het nieuwere deel. Boven deze strekkenlaag wordt het muurwerk op regelmatige afstand geleed door lisenen. De balustrades worden afgesloten door een hardstenen dekplaat. Het brugdek en het ovaalvormige terras rond de trap naar de voordeur zijn vermoedelijk omstreeks 1854 betegeld met de huidige kleine vierkante tegels in een lichte kleur. Ter weerszijden van de hoofdtrap leiden enkele treden naar beneden, naar de dienstingang die toegang geeft tot het souterrain.

Description of component 3: ENSEMBLE OF ACCESS BRIDGE, TERRACE AND RETAINING WALLS WITH BALUSTRADE belonging to the country estate Eerde.
The moated main building is accessible from the forecourt via an arch bridge. This bridge forms together with its balustrade a single entity with the quay walls with balustrade, which bound the south side of the forecourt, and with the oval-shaped terrace with balustrade, which forms the representative approach to the entrance section of the house. The ensemble presumably received its present appearance around 1854, probably according to designs by architect I.H. Eberson, whereby the existing bridge and walls were incorporated. As of 2001 it is still clearly recognizable that the balustrades were heightened in a later phase. Bridge, retaining walls and balustrades are constructed of red brick. A stretcher course approximately 50 cm. below the edge of the balustrades marks the transition from the old to the newer part. Above this stretcher course the masonry is articulated at regular intervals by pilaster strips. The balustrades are finished with a sandstone coping. The bridge deck and the oval-shaped terrace around the stair to the front door were presumably tiled around 1854 with the current small square tiles in a light colour. On either side of the main stair several steps lead downwards, to the service entrance which provides access to the basement.
