Omschrijving
De THEEKOEPEL uit circa 1860 is gelegen aan de Jagerlaan die aansloot op de Parklaan bij het hoofdhuis. De Jagerlaan diende als verbindingsweg door het bos langs de dubbele arbeiderswoning aan de Schelmseweg. De theekoepel vervulde een belangrijke rol in de tijd dat de familie van Eck op het landgoed uit jagen ging.
Vlak voor de Tweede Wereldoorlog (1936) is het interieur met een keukentje en badkamer in stijl uitgebouwd tot weekendwoning.
Van oorsprong achtzijdige, in hout uitgevoerde theekoepel, onder een met riet gedekt kegelvormig dak. Het brede overstek van het met twee dakkapellen uitgeruste dakschild wordt door houten zuilen met sokkel op poeren ondersteund. In elke, uit messing en groef bestaande plankdelen zijde komt een van een paneelluik voorzien raam met roede voor. Op de voordeur sluit een gemetselde trap aan. De theekoepel rust op twee concentrische stenen muurtjes waartussen zich draagbalken bevinden.
Waardering
De THEEKOEPEL als onderdeel van de historische buitenplaats 'Mariëndaal' is van algemeen belang:
- als goed voorbeeld van een in hoofdvorm goed bewaarde theekoepel;
- vanwege de historisch-functionele samenhang van de theekoepel met het hoofdhuis en de verbindingsweg Jagerlaan welke waren verbonden met de jacht op het landgoed;
- als bijzondere uitdrukking van een ontwikkeling in de (bewonings)geschiedenis van de theekoepel tot later weekendwoning;
- vanwege de ensemblewaarde in relatie met de overige onderdelen van de historische buitenplaats 'Mariëndaal'.

Description
The TEA PAVILION dating from circa 1860 is located on the Jagerlaan which connected to the Parklaan at the main house. The Jagerlaan served as a connecting road through the forest along the double workers' dwelling on the Schelmseweg. The tea pavilion played an important role at the time when the van Eck family went hunting on the estate.
Shortly before the Second World War (1936) the interior was expanded in style with a small kitchen and bathroom to become a weekend cottage.
Originally an octagonal, wood-constructed tea pavilion, under a cone-shaped roof covered with reed. The wide overhang of the roof shield equipped with two roof dormers is supported by wooden columns with bases on piers. In each side consisting of brass and groove plank sections a window provided with a panel shutter comes with a glazing bar. A brick staircase adjoins the front door. The tea pavilion rests on two concentric stone walls between which support beams are located.
