Omschrijving
Het SPOORWEGVIADUCT is in 1845 over het landgoed op een spoordijk aangelegd in het tracé Utrecht-Arnhem. Vanaf dat jaar vormt het viaduct vanaf de Utrechtseweg via de oprijlaan een poort tot de historische buitenplaats 'Mariëndaal' dat daarmee tot een belangwekkend onderdeel van de buitenplaats is geworden.
In baksteen (kruisverband) opgetrokken viaduct met rondboogvormig afgesloten doorgang onder een van een spaarveld voorzien metselwerk. De door een tongewelf overspannen opening wordt aan de noord- en zuidzijde in beide hoeken met de haaks geplaatste vleugels geflankeerd door een liseen. De vleugels die concaaf van vorm zijn, lopen evenwijdig aan de helling van het talud van de spoordijk naar beneden toe af en eindigen in een bakstenen pijler met hardstenen afdekplaat.

Het SPOORWEGVIADUCT als onderdeel van de historische buitenplaats 'Mariëndaal' is van algemeen belang:

Description
The RAILWAY VIADUCT was constructed in 1845 over the estate on a railway embankment in the Utrecht-Arnhem route. From that year the viaduct has formed a gateway to the historic country estate 'Mariëndaal' via the Utrechtseweg and the drive, becoming an important component of the country estate.
Constructed in brick (cross-bond) viaduct with semi-circular arched passage beneath masonry provided with a spandrel. The opening spanned by a barrel vault is flanked on the north and south sides at both corners with the perpendicularly placed wings by a lisene. The wings which are concave in form run parallel to the slope of the railway embankment declining downwards and end in a brick pillar with a hardstone capping plate.

The RAILWAY VIADUCT as part of the historic country estate 'Mariëndaal' is of general importance:
