Inleiding
MOLENROMP. De als bergmolen uitgevoerde ronde stenen molen is in 1837 gebouwd als korenmolen. De molen is onttakeld, waarbij het wiekenkruis, de kap en het gaande werk werden verwijderd. De molenromp kreeg een functie als opslagruimte. De molenromp is zichtbaar in een vrij open omgeving.
Omschrijving
De molenromp is een ronde conisch gemetselde bakstenen romp met daar omheen nog de berg. De uit vijf bouwlagen bestaande molenromp is voorzien van een namaak molenkap die is voorzien van een bitumineuze dakbedekking. De namaakkap ligt met de voeghouten op het muurwerk. Deze kap is niet van waarde vanuit het oogpunt van monumentenzorg.
Waardering
De molenromp van algemeen belang:
- vanwege bouwtechnisch-historische waarden als herkenbaar en representatief relict van een ronde stenen korenmolen uit de eerste helft van de 19e eeuw;
- vanwege cultuurhistorische waarden als onderdeel van de geschiedenis van de graanmaalderijen van Nederland en de industriële ontwikkeling van Noord-Brabant en de plaatselijke geschiedenis;
- vanwege de gaafheid van de molenbiotoop.
